German Layer Salad Recipe – Easy, Creamy & Perfect for Gatherings
This German Layer Salad is a favourite of Mike’s, and it always gets great feedback. It’s a colourful, creamy mix of layers—eggs, pineapple, corn, leeks, ham, and more—and it’s even better the next day. The recipe comes from my lovely mother-in-law in Germany, and when I made it at work, it got rave reviews. If you like layered salads, you might also enjoy my Old-Fashioned Layer Salad — it’s a bit retro and a little unusual, but it really works.

- Next, add the drained corn kernels, then layer the drained pineapple over the top.
- Sprinkle the diced apples over the pineapple.

- Finally, layer the thinly sliced leeks as the crowning touch.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight for the best flavour.
