My goal with this website and channel is to share recipes that work — ones you’ll want to make again and again.

But here’s how it really started…

A few years ago, I couldn’t work for a while, and I joined a government scheme that offered a small allowance to start your own business. I thought,

“I’ll write a cookbook!”
But that quickly started to feel like chewing glass

— and besides, who would even buy it? I had no following. To meet the program’s requirements, I made a couple of YouTube videos. And just like that, I got hooked. The scheme ended, but I kept filming — and I haven’t stopped since.

At the time, my husband Mike and I were planning to sell our house and travel around Australia. I even started the channel cooking on a tiny two-burner stove! But the house didn’t sell, and we ended up staying.

Starting out with a 2-burner stove and a dream.

My focus has shifted — and it’s better for it.

When I first started, I was sharing recipes that could be made on a simple 2-burner stove — practical meals for camping or travelling. But over time, I realised what I really wanted was to share the recipes that work — the ones I’ve made many times and know are worth keeping.

I only share the recipes that work — because cooking should feel rewarding, not disappointing.

Some are my own, some I’ve adapted, and some I don’t change at all because they’re already spot on. I always credit where I found them. I’ve also worked in the industry for the past 15 years — cooking for a living — and I still do. So, between my personal collection and the many recipes I’ve cooked professionally, I’ve gathered a lot of good ones.
And I’m still trying new recipes all the time — it’s my passion.

This is my cookbook of sorts.

Through these videos and this website, I’m simply gathering and sharing the recipes that have stood the test of time — and a few new favourites I’ve found along the way.

Thanks for being here. I’m so glad to share them with you.

Meet Mike. His main role is tasting the food — and he performs it magnificently.
